Now that you know my secret to how to make your own thick creamy yogurt, I bet your wondering what’s next. Well here are some tips for you.
You can use your yogurt cheese as a snack, spread or dip. This is a much better alternative than using a sour cream or mayo based.
As a Snack I would add any of the following for a yummy parfait:
Walnuts, Berries, granola, Shredded Coconut
Add chives or green onions to yogurt cheese
for a low-fat potato topping.
Make yogurt cheese from vanilla yogurt and
use in place of whipped cream.
Flavor yogurt cheese with a bit of vanilla or
maple extract, grated orange rind or honey. Use to
top pancakes, waffles or muffins.
As a Spread: Add herbs, spices, garlic are good way to start.
Mix 1 cup yogurt cheese with 1/4 cup grated
Parmesan cheese. Add 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
and 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt. Spread mixture generously
on slices of French bread and broil 3-4 minutes or until
lightly brown.
As a Dip :
Combine 2 cups of yogurt cheese with 1 envelope
(2.5 ounces) onion soup mix. Cover and chill 1-2 hours
to blend flavors. Serve as a dip for crisp raw vegetables,
crackers or crunchy bread sticks.
